The Shield is the Tech Jacket you want to prevent identity theft
This is a Sponsored Post, but Opinions are mine
We all love technology, and how rapidly technology is advancing in terms of what it can do, but there’s always a downside to this – it makes it easier for people to actually steal things from you – your identity, your credit cards, bank details and so on. So much so that you could just be out for a walk on the street and have your credit cards might become compromised, without you even knowing – or even without being touched. How is this possible you might say? Simple – Passports, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, etc generally all contain RFID ( Radio Frequency Identification Device) chips on them, and nearly all your chips are vulnerable to to RFID scanners and RFID downloaders – or officially it is known as Wireless Identity Theft. Now it’s not to say all thieves have these machines – but as technology increases, these may start becoming a big issue. A study undertaken in 2006 showed that nearly 1 in 20 Cards failed their security measures and were compromised. Since then security measures have been tightened, but technology has also advanced so thieves will always endevour to keep up. There’s not need to panic just yet, as the chances of having your details stolen are very low, but not 0%. If you do want to protect yourself at all costs, then a new kickstarter project (funded already with 17 days to go) might just be your solution. Featuring a new tech Jacket and Hoodie, this technologically advanced jacket (we’ll refer to both products as jacket) which has a RFID blocking internal pocket made of nickel-coated fabric that protects your data from increasingly common RFID and other wireless signal skimming technologies. If you’re worried about style, fear not it comes in a a range of colors and it’s also made to be comfortable as loungewear, and the jacket is certainly waterproof so it works to keep you safe in all weather conditions, or rather your identity. To find out more, check out their Kickstarter page to read all bout their design and how it helps. Otherwise, take a look at the video below where they explain the Jacket’s usefulness. Useful? We think so!
