No need to panic, the Lumia 1020 is heading to Australia this month!

People have been expectantly waiting for the Lumia 1020 to leave the USA and finally venture into other countries, and it seems like one of the first countries to receive the bountiful goodness of that 41 megapixel shooter is Australia starting from the 17th of September!

Those of you wishing to go on Telstra can pick up the device in store on the 17th of September (less than 2 weeks away!) or pre-order online of course beforehand. If you are planning to pre-order one, we’d suggest acting quick because the first 500 pre-orders online (on contract) will receive the Camera Grip Extension (valued at $89.95) included, and it’s an extension we highly recommend getting because of the extended battery in the case, and the fact it turns the phone into a Mini DSLR. The Lowest plan will be a $60 contract, at $15/month on top for the phone repayment over 24 months ($600 worth of included calls and MMS, unlimited SMS and 1GB of data, all to standard Australian numbers (and excluding use overseas) each month). Otherwise you can buy the phone outright for $816 RRP.

Optus will also be receiving the phone, however sales will only start on the 1st of October – making Telstra the priority partner for Nokia once again. Harvey Norman ($833 outright, free camera grip with Yellow Pre-order), Allphones, & Dick Smith will also have the phone available though colors are limited as you can see below.
