Well it seems the Samsung Focus 2 has been revealed by the folks over at the Windows Phone Blog (we think this is the phone they’ve been referring to under the codename ‘Mandel’), and as far as it goes – it’s a Upper Mid-range phone. The Focus 2 is a slight upgrade from the original Focus which came out two years ago, or as we know it – The American Samsung Omnia 7, and there aren’t too many upgrades to get excited about, though the pricing might work well for those of you looking for a bargain.
The specs are similar to the original Focus, 1.4GHz single core processor, 5 megapixel camera (which takes much better shots than the original Focus), a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen (no plus here?), and it comes with the added bonus of working with 4G LTE on AT&T (making it the third Windows Phone to have 4G LTE in it) in the States. The real prize about this phone is the fact it comes in white, and more importantly – it costs only $49.99 for a 2 year contract (meaning this is a direct competitor to the Lumia 710). It also comes with a Front Facing Camera for all your Skyping needs, and the phone will be available in AT&T stores from May 20th onwards.
We can’t say we’re truly excited about this phone as it’s no Nokia Lumia 900, though we are expecting to see BIG things from Samsung for Windows Phone 8 towards October. For more information, head on over to the link below.
