Nokia Lumia 610 now available in Malaysia for RM699

For those of you who have forgotten, the Nokia Lumia 610 was announced back in February as Nokia’s Low end Windows Phone offering, and it seems to have just gone up for sale in Malaysia for RM 699 ($225 AUD)! It’s also worth noting that the 610 is running Windows Phone 7.5 Tango (an optimized version of Windows Phone for lower end models with less RAM). The Lumia 610 is supposed to encompass style and quality in a tiny build with a cheap price, and it seems like it might just be a hit, despite the low end specs which are:

  • Processor – 800 MHz
  • RAM – 256 MHz
  • Camera – 5 megapixel rear facing camera
  • Screen – 3.2-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen (LCD)
  • Weight – 131.5 grams

We actually think the Lumia 610 looks much nicer than it’s older and faster 710 variant (though they both work just as smoothly), and it even has the added bonus of a NFC working chip inside the device (something no other Windows Phone currently has of yet). It’s possible we might get one of our friends to send us the Lumia 610 so we could review it, but with the Lumia 900 coming out way this month we doubt it and we’ll just have to let other phone sites give it a whirl. So if you’re looking for a cheap Windows Phone, and you live in Malaysia – this is the phone you are looking for!
