Motorola RAZR Maxx now available for pre-order at Clove
The Motorola Razer Maxx is the latest phone to come out of Motorola’s workshop, and according to our friends over at Clove it’s going to be available mid May. For those who aren’t aware, the Motorola RAZR Maxx is basically the Motorola Droid RAZR, but with a few ‘upgrades’. The main thing is obviously the battery which has been upgraded from 3300mAh from the standard 1780mAh battery. This obvious upgrade means that the battery life is meant to be insane on this Android powered phone, with an estimated 17.6 hours of talk time! Obviously the downsides are that the phone has in fact increased in weight and thickness to 145 grams (from 126g) and 8.99mm (from 7.1 mm), but it’s still thinner than the iPhone 4S.
Specs are as follows:
- Processor – 1.2GHz Dual Core processor
- Memory – 1GB RAM
- Camera – 8 megapixel rear camera, with 1080p video recording capabilities
- Screen – 4.3-inch qHD (quarter HD) Super AMOLED Display
- Thickness – 8.9mm
- Dimensions – 130.7 mm x 68.9 mm x 9 mm
- Battery – 3,300 mAh
Obviously it’s disappointing that the phone won’t get upgraded to a 720p screen, rather sticking with the standard qHD screen that was on the original Droid RAZR. Furthermore, the phone will ship out with only Gingerbread but Q2 should see a ICS upgrade (no Motorola Phones have received their ICS upgrades yet).
As for pricing, that’s the one sweet spot with Clove telling us that the phone (before shipping) is available for £359 (which is roughly $555 AUD) which is a decent price for a phone with an enormous battery and upper end specs. It also comes with free folding speakers valued at £20. If you’re interested in pre-ordering this phone, then click here. If you’d rather look at the original Motorola Droid RAZR, then click here.
