Instagram for Android as good as done
Now those of you who use iPhones know that Instagram is without a doubt one of the most popular and widely used App’s in the App Store. Why just the other day, Instragram reached a total of 27 million users – a huge amount by any standards. One question which has been on everyone’s mind is when will this successful app come to Android and Windows Phones? Well if you’re an Android user, your question has just about been answered and if you’re a Windows Phone user then your wait for an answer continues.
Apparently at a recent event at SXSW (South by South West), Instagram founder Kevin Systrom briefly demonstrated the app on the Android platform, which should now have mos Android users salivating at the thought of this App finally hitting Google Play (aka Google Market). Well in fairness, the app wasn’t exactly demonstrated in full but TechCrunch’s Kim-Mai Cutler had this to say:
He waved it around very briefly on-stage, but he didn’t give a full demo. (That’s for later, and the company tells us they aren’t totally ready for a walkthrough yet.)
So the truth of the story is that there’s an app in circulation amongst the Instragram team for Android phones, but it’s not ready to go out the public just yet. Either way, the fact that they even brought it up means it can be longer than a month or two before this app is there for your downloading pleasure. Stay strong Androiders, your time is coming.
