ZTE Tania is now the cheapest Windows Phone you can buy!
Despite the phone being one of the nicer looking Windows Phones on the market (as gathered by out scoring system here) but what has really kept the phone back is the rather weak (and low) specs that come with the phone. Well, having said that, perhaps the specs won’t looks so bad with the ZTE Tania receiving a £50 price cut from our friends over at Clove UK! That’s right, the price drop means that this phone is now valued at £199 (including VAT for those of you in the country), or even better, £190 including delivery for those outside (price may vary depending on location, as this cost is to Australia) which translates to AUD$280 easily making it the cheapest Gen 2 device on the market now!
For those of you who need a reminder, the specs are as follows:
- 1GHz MSM 8255
- 4.3-inch 800×480 screen
- 512MB RAM
- 5 megapixel camera (no front facing camera), 720p video recording
- 4GB Internal Storage
- 1,400 mAh battery (up to 5 hours talk time)
- 10.7mm thick
- 158.2 grams in weight
- Comes with Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango)
Of course, you might be better off getting a Gen 1 device for a cheaper price, but honestly the gorgeous design sways us every time. We’re hoping ZTE and Microsoft can come to an understanding whereby the latter lowers licensing costs for using their Windows Phone OS (rumored to be between $20 and $25 per license) so that ZTE can trully make low-cost devices to compete with Android low-cost devices. This device can easily go for a sub $250 pricing should they come to a good agreement, which will be benificial to all parties!
Either way, first shipment of the new stock for the ZTE Tania will be expected around the 20th of February. For those of you who are interested (why shouldn’t you be?), then head over to this link and purchase your device today! Feel free to check out their other devices on their website as well!
