Rumor Grind: iPad 3 may be announced next month
Exciting news for you folks looking at buying an iPad 3, that is if the rumors hold true. Apple is apparently expected to announce the iPad 3 next month, with retail availability (at least in the USA) starting off in March and that’s possibly a month earlier than the iPad 2 was announced last year. We know it’s been a while since we’ve delved into any iPad 3 rumors, but you readers know that we don’t like to devote too much time to rumors since they are a waste of time if they turn out to be false, but this rumor may in fact hold true.
Reason being is that Apple apparently have an event scheduled for next month, and being this is the time we start looking at iPad 3 news, chances are it will most certainly be an iPad 3. Apart from the unveiling of the iPad 3, iOS 5.1 is expected to be shown off as well, though we don’t know which updates will be on that software update though we’re sure we’ll find out soon enough.
So what do we know about the future iPad iteration? Well for one, like we reported back in August last year, it’s expected to have a higher resolution screen (which is expected to have Retina Display in it) though it probably won’t double the current resolution. Furthermore, it’s expected to have an A6 quad-core processor to keep it powering away at all your Infinity Blade games (the current iPad 2 is only dual-core). Once again, these are not confirmed facts, but rather assumptions based on rumors and readings and while we do expect them to be included, Apple could disappoint everyone (as with the iPhone 4S being released as opposed to the iPhone 5).
And we always say, as with anything rumor based, take it with a pinch of salt. Or sugar.
