Update: Activision has confirmed that it won’t be banning players to play the game early (ie: before the release date), so if you have the game feel free to fire it up and commence the noob killing spree!
Infinity Ward’s ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3′ might be the most anticipated shooter game to come out, now that Battlefield 3 has already hit the market. Having said that, despite the release date being penned in for this coming monday, aka the 8th of November, it is worth noting that there have already been leaked copies (real and fakes) floating around the internet for a week or two already (which should be no surprise to you avid fans out there). Of course, if you do happen to get your grubby paws on said leaked copy, then you may want to hold off playing it (at least till the 8th of November, when the game goes on sale).
On Thursday, Microsoft warned that any user(s) caught playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 could risk a Xbox LIVE ban, which if you ask us is not something we want. Director of Policy and Enforcement for Xbox Live, Stephen Tolouse, revealed on Thursday that it was risky to play Modern Warfare 3 before it’s generally available next week. Tolouse originally stated that it was ok to play the game before checking with Activision and backtracking. “For those asking about MW3 pre-release play: If your copy is legit and obtained legitly, have fun. It’s a great game,” he said. He later tweeted “clarification: dblchk’d with Activision. Mw3 pre-release play not authorized. So pls be patient. Playing early may impact your account!”.
Of course, this isn’t restricted to online play but the game as a whole, so those of you with ‘advanced copies’ might want to step back and just wait (that Battlefield 3 game isn’t going to finish itself). We’re sure looking forward to the game, but on the PC as opposed to the 360/PS3. For those of you unware about what MW3 holds for you, then sit back and watch the action packed trailer below and enjoy the show.
