Asus Eee Pad Slider Tablet – Coming Soon
So tablets are great to use – they’re light, portable, and get the job done. The only problem with slates and tablets? Well the fact that touch screen typing get’s annoying fast, and since human’s have been using keyboards for over 100 years in both computers and typewriters (the world’s first keyboard was invented in 1868), everyone’s not going to move to touchscreens only, overnight. The problem with most tablets these days is that if you want the comfort of a keyboard and a touchscreen, you’re looking at having to buy an external keyboard which gets quite annoying to carry around. Well that’s exactly where the Asus Eee Pad Slider Tablet comes in, packing a slider keyboard right underneath the touch screen.
A full qwerty keyboard attached to a tablet is something people have been screaming about of some time, and now with the Eee Pad Slider almost out worldwide (having launched in South Africa only yesterday), we can look forward to it hitting Australia and USA soon.
Don’t think this little tablet doesn’t pack a punch either, as it comes loaded with Android OS 3.1 Honeycomb (and upgradeable to 3.2), it has a 10.1-inch screen (which is slightly bigger than the iPad 2 screen, and feature a resolution of 1280 x 800 ), it run’s on the powerful 1GHz Tegra 2 dual-core processor (which should power this bad boy really well), and it has all the other essentials as well (USB, Micro SD card reader, and mini-HDMI, as well as Gorilla-Glass Screen).
No word on pricing (or availability) just yet, but expect it to be in the region of $400 to $600. Oh and it comes with a front (1.2MP) and back facing camera (5MP) as well, so you can get all your video chatting and picture taking fills on the go. Excited yet?
