Apple lowers Australian App prices, now match USA prices!
In awesome news for those of us who own Apple products and like to purchase Apps, Apple has decided to drop the pricing (for the most part) of Apps to match our US counterpart prices. This is awesome (we can thank our strong Australian Dollar for that). Perhaps this is the beginning of the end of the iTunes ripoff which has plagued pretty much most countries outside the United States for a few years now.
Well.. in a way it’s great for the cheaper apps, but not all the price’s are matched with the USA prices. Prices like $0.99 apps till $2.99 apps are matched to USA prices, but either way every app price has at least dropped in price. Certain apps priced at $9.99 in the USA are still being sold for $10.49 in Australia, which is still a considerable gap. Basically, Apps between $4.49 and $9.99 are priced 50c higher than the US; $9.99 to $19.99 apps are $1 more, and $20+ apps are priced $2 higher than the States.
This change hasn’t affected Videos or Books in pricing (our country still over pays for that regardless). And for those of you in UK, Mexico and Norway, sorry but your prices just went up.
