Motorola Xoom now available with Optus

A bit slower than expected, but expected nevertheless, Optus have just started selling the Motorola Xoom online on their stores, nearly a month after Telstra started selling the Xoom. Still if you’re a Telstra hater (and we know there are quite a few of you), then you’ll do best with sticking with Optus (minus Next G Speeds).

The actual Xoom (which comes with Android 3.0) will be available in stores from July 1st, but if you can’t wait to pick one up, they are available to buy online now. With usual Optus standards, the company has released a host of Plan options that should cater to most people wishing to purchase the Motorola Xoom, with plans ranging from 12 to 24 months depending on the plan you choose. If you want to pay $0 upfront, you’ll have to jump on Optus’ most expensive plan, which is the $59.95/mo, but you’ll get a nice 10GB of data as well. As well, the Android 3.1 update that Xoom owners in the USA are already experiencing should be available some time in July (hopefully…). All in all, these plans seems to be better than Telstra’s plans, so you wouldn’t be too wrong with going with Optus if you wish to do so.

24 Months — Pay Upfront

  • $480 + $29.95/mo = 4GB Data
  • $360 + $39.95/mo = 8GB Data
  • $0 + $59.95/mo = 10GB Data

24 Months — Monthly Repayment

  • $20/mo + $29.95/mo = 4GB Data
  • $15/mo + $39.95/mo = 8GB Data
  • $0 + $59.95/mo = 10GB Data

12 Months — Pay Upfront

  • $649 + $29.95/mo = 4GB Data
  • $499 + $39.95/mo = 8GB Data
  • $399 + $59.95/mo = 10GB Data

12 Months — Monthly Repayment

  • $54.08/mo + $29.95/mo = 4GB Data
  • $41.58/mo + $39.95/mo = 8GB Data
  • $33.25/mo + $59.95/mo = 10GB Data
