Apple now selling unlocked iPhone 4’s in USA
As the picture above confirms, Apple have finally begun selling unlocked iPhone 4’s in the USA, making it much easier for people who have been eyeing an iPhone 4 from overseas. For those of you in the USA, an unlocked iPhone 4 won’t do too much good because you’ll still be stuck to the AT&T network band, but this basically ensures you can go overseas and swap out as many MicroSIM’s as they want for overseas travel or permanent use. Usually you had to pay the carriers a fee to be able to do that in the past, but now you can purchase unlocked phones straight from Apple USA.
The only problem with this of course, is that the pricing isn’t exactly on the cheap side. $649 (16GB) and $749 (32GB) don’t exactly look the cheapest, but a quick check on eBay shows that these pricing are on par (although Apple’s prices don’t factor in shipping). So if you’re either in the USA, or have someone you know who can pick one up for you and ship it down to you, now’s the time, because Apple has just made the world your oyster… for your iPhone 4.
