Nintendo 3DS Sells 400,000 units in first week

According to official Stats from Nintendo, the 3DS, their latest handheld device (console) sold just over 400,000 units in its first week of sale in the United States, which is quite amazing when you think their device before this, especially with the high pricing it was released with. It did not quite hit the sales estimates of 500,000 + however and we think that a higher pricing led to less people purchasing the device, despite the 3D attached to it.

We here at Techin5 are still not sold on the whole 3D technology concept that has been implemented into the 3DS, and from the report we hear, most people think its just a side gimmick that doesn’t add too much. Thats one of the reasons we won’t be doing a 3DS review. That, and we’re quite excited about the PSP NGP due to come out later this year from Sony.
