Keep Me Out – Cut down your Facebook Addiction

We’ve all been there, when we need to finish a report or assignment, and we decide to make a quick detour on Facebook or Twitter just to take a quick break, only to realise your ’20 minute break’ ended up being a 2 hour time waste. Well Keep Me Out (KMO) is here to make sure you limit your time on those annoyingly addictive social websites (I just went to facebook twice and twitter four times while writing this article!). The concept is quite simple actually, you type in the website you want to keep limited, and how often you want KMO to notify (or warn) you if you visit the site too often, and when that limit hits, it will notify you/automatically re-direct you to another site, once you have bookmarked the site link it creates for you for Facebook (see pics below). The time in this case I set was 1 minute for testing purposes.

Quite the concept I must say, and frankly quite useful, especially when I’m in the middle of writing this article. The only thing is it doesn’t quite have a time option which times how long you are on Facebook and kick you off, so you could technically be logged in for quite some time, but it’s always useful to have to you keep opening and closing Facebook as it will prevent you from getting back onto Facebook for the duration of the time you set. It’s all about willpower, and this should make it slightly easier to stay away from Facebook. Head on down to the source link and try this bad boy our for yourself (after all, it did help me finish this article in record time!).
