Sony to Hackers: Hack and we’ll ban!

Sony, who own and create the Video game console – The PS3 (PlayStation 3), have issued a statement to all PS3 users: “If you hack the PS3 in anyway, we will ban you” . A simple statement, with possible big repercussions.

This Official Statement was taken from the Official Playstation Blog:

Consumers using circumvention devices or running unauthorized or pirated software will have access to the PlayStation Network and access to Qriocity services through PlayStation 3 system terminated permanently.

To avoid this, consumers must immediately cease use and remove all circumvention devices and delete all unauthorized or pirated software from their PlayStation 3 systems.

What this means is, if you have put any custom firmware on the console, and Sony detects any forms of pirated programs running on your console, they will ban your console from online access (that means playing games online, accessing the PlayStation network, and accessing the internet from the console, all gone).

Our advice to you? Stick with buying original games on the PlayStation 3, they might costs an arm and a leg, but at the end of the day, you can laugh at all those users who end up being banned from the PSN (PlayStation Network).
